Natwest Packaged Bank Account Claims

Natwest Packaged Bank Account Claims

If you have a Natwest bank account that you pay money for, you may have been mis-sold a Natwest Packaged Bank Account (PBA).

Packaged Bank Accounts are the next big mis-selling scandal after PPI. All the major UK banks – including Natwest – are implicated.

PBAs are current accounts with extra features bolted on for a monthly fee, typically around £5-£30 per month. In return, customers get ‘benefits’ like travel insurance and airport lounge access.

Banks have been routinely over-selling these products to their customers. Often taking hundreds of pounds every year for products you won’t use, can’t use, or aren’t even aware you’re paying for.

We can help you get your money back.

We can claim on your behalf. Take care of all the paperwork. Deal with Natwest directly. Ensure they don’t wriggle out of paying back what they’ve taken from you.

Even if you’re still paying the monthly fee. Even if you’ve cancelled or downgraded the account in the last 3 years.

About PBAs & Our Service

Approximately 10 million PBAs are open today. Potentially millions more are closed. There’s no telling how many were mis-sold.

Packaged Bank Accounts were mis-sold on an industrial scale. Banks set overzealous sales targets, encouraging their sales people to skim over the details and foist products and charges onto customers often without their full understanding, sometimes even without their knowledge.

Around £1bn has been set aside by UK banks to compensate consumers. If you’ve paid for a current account, and not used the additional benefits you were paying for, you could be entitled to some of that money.

Natwest PBA Claims & Brief History

The Financial Ombudsman has declared Natwest the worst offender when it comes to mis-selling Packaged Bank Accounts. In the second half of 2015, it upheld nearly one in four complaints against the bank out of a total 4,872. Those are only the complaints that made it to the Ombudsman, there are likely thousands more that never make it past the bank.

Natwest’s PBAs attract fees of up to £25 per month in return for the typical insurance products bundled with current accounts – travel, mobile phone and vehicle breakdown. The tiers range from Silver Select Account to the Black Account.

That so many complaints make it to the Financial Ombudsman – and are found in the customer’s favour – should come as no surprise. Natwest has previously been fined a staggering £2.8 million by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for mishandling PPI claims.
