Bank of Scotland PPI Claims & Brief History

The Bank of Scotland agreed to a merger with Halifax in 2001 to become HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland).

In 2009 HBOS became part of the Lloyds Banking Group, which has since been found out to be by far the biggest culprit when it comes to mis-selling PPI.

So far, the group has set aside a staggering £12.8bn, of which Bank of Scotland have contributed a significant proportion.

On 5th June 2015 Lloyds Banking Group were fined a whopping £117m for mis-handling PPI complaints.
