Package Bank Account Sale Recollection

Banks have a duty to ensure customers are given all relevant information required in order to make an informed decision about a packaged bank account. They must also advise the customer that the packaged account was optional and that the customer could have a fee free account instead.

Banks have to advise customers of the monthly cost of the account and the products or ‘benefits’ associated with it. Banks should advise the customer how to register for the ‘benefits’ and any major exclusions to the ‘benefits’ that would prevent you from making a claim, such as whether having a pre-existing medical condition would prevent a successful claim on travel insurance for example.
