Barclays PBA Claims & Brief History

Barclays Packaged Bank Accounts go under the name of ‘Premier Current Accounts’. These accounts have taken over from the original Barclays PBAs, known as ‘Additions Plus’.

The accounts all come with a range of added ‘benefits’, from worldwide travel insurance to gadget insurance, costing up to £17.50 per month. The bank is one of the worst offenders, receiving 3.4 complains per 1,000 customers. As a result, it has set aside a remarkable £250m to compensate customers who have been mis-sold PBAs.

Mis-selling of PBAs is merely the latest in a series of scandals involving the bank, which has had to pay an incredible £134m in fines over PPI mis-selling.
