Northern Rock PPI Claims & Brief History
Founded in 1850 as Northern Counties, then following a merger in 1865 with the Rock Building society, Northern Rock was eventually founded in 1965.
The following 30 years, Northern Rock expanded by acquiring 53 smaller building societies, most notably the North of England Building Society.
During the financial crisis of the late 2000s, Northern Rock were bailed out by the UK tax payer until they were eventually taken over by Virgin Money.
PPI claims made against Northern Rock are managed by Northern Rock Asset Management (NRAM), and they are still receiving thousands of complaints to this day.
